Mahala Arnett, an aged widow lady, died at her home in this city last Tuesday night between 11 and 12 o'clock.

Arnett, Mahala C., 56, an aged widow lady, was born Feb. 14, 1836, and died
Jul. 26, 1892. Her maiden name was Humbard and in 1850 she married William
Elliott, who died in 1852. In 1853, she married Elwood Arnett. She was the
mother of six children - 3 surviving.

Obituary
Mahala C. Arnett was born February 14, 1836, died July 26, 1892, aged 56 years, 5 months and 12 days.
Her maiden name was Humbard. She was married to Wm. Elliott in June 1850. This union was dissolved by the death of Mr. Elliott which occurred in November 1852.
She was married to Elwood Arnett August 26, 1853. To which union were born six children, two boys and four girls. Her husband and three children preceded her to the land of departed spirits, while others mourn their loss and hope for a glad reunion in heaven.
Mrs. Arnett was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist church. She had been a constant sufferer for several months, but now she rests from all, while her works follow on.
Her funeral, which was largely attended, occurred from the Wesleyan church, July 27. J.J.C.

September 19 - October 24, 1849 in Wayne County, Indiana HEISS INDIANA QUAKER RECORDS (2-34) NEW GARDEN MM, HEISS INDIANA QUAKER RECORDS (2-204) DOVER MM, daughter of JOHN THOMAS and ACHSAH THOMAS. He married (2) MAHALA HUMBARD August 26, 1853. She was born February 14, 1836, and died July 26, 1892

- ACHSA ARNETT, b. Bet. 1849 - 1852.
- STEPHEN ARNETT, b. August 15, 1852, New Garden Twp, Wayne Co, IN; d. December 24, 1896, Jonesboro, Grant, IN.
- MAHLON ARNETT, b. May 13, 1861, in Liberty Twp. Grant County, Indiana; d. November 28, 1926, Grant County, Indiana.
- MALINDA ARNETT, b. July 1863.
