On this census, Eleanor has passed away in 1875, and Lindley has married his second wife, Mary Hill.
The twin, Joseph Addison, has died at age 15, also in 1875 and is buried in Oakridge Cemetary along with his mother. One other Arnett, the infant daughter of Stephen (Lindleys nephew, brother Elwoods son) also died in 1875 and is buried in Oakridge Cemetery.
Minor has married Mary J Evans in 1879, and is no longer living with Lindley.
Son Louis would be 18 years of age, does not show on this census. He never married Amanda Rich until 1884, so am unsure of his whereabouts here. At age 18, as any parent might attest, he could be ANYWHERE! However, younger brother, Virgil, who would be 6 years of age, does not show up here, either. Since we have pictures of Virgil and his wife and child with his brother Louis in later years in Sentinel, North Dakota, we know he existed, and suspect that he was "missed" on the census somehow.
The person known in later life as Della, is shown as Julia here. Her age shows as 12. Previous Census listed her as Odelia. I list her in my files as (A/I/O)Della Julie Arnett. She signed a postcard to her brother Louis as Della in later years.
Children Jesse and William have been born, completing Lindleys family until his 3rd marriage, late in life, to Martha Brewer. That union, he was blessed with one more daughter, whom he never lived to see grow up.
